With over 7400 entries from Facebook, Google+, and Twitter (in order of popularity), the 6th "supercharged" giveaway ended up being our largest giveaway yet. And no wonder - in addition to the usual main prize, the winner will also get a JAMBOX, a keyboard dock, and a $25 giftcard.

Before I move on to the winner, selected at random, I'd like to thank NVIDIA for providing the prizes. Check out their Tegra Zone on the web or on the Android Market.

And now - the winner!

Unfortunately, since there is only 1 grand prize and over 7,400 entries, the chance of winning one is... well 1/~7400 (unless you entered using more than 1 method). The person listed below, selected at random from the whole pool, will receive the 16GB Tab 10.1 from us and our friends at NVIDIA, along with the Tegra Zone Power Pack.

imageMatthew Bowe, a musician, wireless consultant, and traveler wannabe from Sandy, UT who entered using Facebook (as well as Google+ and Twitter) on August 26th  - you are now the owner of a brand new 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb tablet and the Tegra Zone Power Pack. Congratulations!

Update: And here's Matthew with his new babies:

We will be contacting Matthew shortly, and as for the rest of you, if you didn't win, don't lose hope - we have a ton of devices already lined up for future giveaways, waiting their turn to possibly land in your hands.

Stay tuned to Android Police so that you don't miss our upcoming giveaway announcements and follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and RSS.

this is really not in good taste. why is it that only people from the US always win when the contest is open for a lot more countries?!!

    • http://www.AndroidPolice.com Artem Russakovskii

Out of 6 giveaways, 2 were won by people outside the U.S. Most of the people who visit AP are from U.S. It's statistics.

      • sahir

i know. that was my frustration speaking.

we indians never get any product on its launch day. till the time the so called 'breakthrough' device reaches us, its already obsolete.

its hard to be a gadget lover in the developing world!!

        • Ahmad Nadeem

I know man!!!!! I'm also from India and know how it feels. Companies should seriously pay attention here. There are a heck lot of techies sitting in this country and all of them always dying to get there hands in new tech

  • Sawyer

Congrats to Matthew... I officially hate you for life you lucky S.O.B.

  • Dr. Piranha

Congratulations! I have a question though, what is that large black box (puns aside)? I'm assuming it's some kind of accessory, but I've never seen one before, so I just can't figure out what I'm looking at? I just bought a 32 GB Galaxy Tab, and I'm definitely looking for cool accessories, I already have the keyboard though, but that black thing looks interesting.

    • Matthew Bowe

Its a Bluetooth speaker made by JawBone.

      • Roy Blumenthal

        Congrats, Matthew!

Dr Piranha... I have a Jawbone Jambox. It's an awesome piece of tech. Couples with all of your bluetooth devices. Plays music. Acts as a speaker phone. Brilliant for watching YouTube vids and Netflix.

    Congrats! Epic win

So is one required to have G+, Twitter and FB to be eligible to win? I don't have a FB account and really don't want to have one so I only play via G+ and Twitter. Does that basically mean I won't be considered? Just wondering as it seems every winner had posted in all three networks.

    Congrats to the Winner!

I think these contests are rather unfair to non Twitter users.
I hate Twitter and I refuse to use it.
In each contest it says you don't have to do all 3 social sites to win but the only people who have won do all 3.
Highly unfair. I shouldn't have to be forced to use Twitter to win a contest especially when it says I don't have to post on all 3.
I would use Twitter but the only username I will ever used is lost cause I forgot the password and the email got hacked(stupid hotmail).
Y'all need to make this more fair to those who don't want to join certain sites...

There is nothing about your statement that is true - first of all, you're not forced to use any one service, and not everyone who won used all 3 methods. A lot of people use all 3 methods, so their chances are higher naturally. Winners are decided entirely at random.

To add to this point...it is a promotion. If the point was purely about giving away this stuff, then AP could just as easily set up a database and ask people to just submit their contact details to possibly win something. The point is to raise attention for AP and get some cross-promotion in for the manufacturers. It only makes sense to encourage entries on as many major social networks as possible (which explains why they don't accept myspace submissions).

Oh, and P.S., Twitter couldn't care less if you create a bogus account and do nothing but spam contest entries out of it all day long...Of the three networks, it's the one that you shouldn't complain about.
