The 7th Android Police book giveaway is now over, and we've picked the winners. A copy of Android 3.0 Application Development Cookbook will be shipped to each of the following readers who answered this question, as selected by Packt and Android Police:

What interests you the most about this book?

Joe Rivera:

What this book feels like to me is a great opportunity to learn about development the right way as opposed to searching 5 different forum sites just to get sent to 10 different webpages and have you give your email for more assistance that gets you 100 pieces of junk mail every day when all I wanted to know was where to start reading. (breeeeeath...) Anyways, it will be a great asset to anyone that wants to get off on the right foot or to someone who has been developing for some time as a reference too or help expand their knowledge.

I'm most interested in the "animate your applications" part. Coming from a set of "head first Java/Android" books, I'm looking forward to checking out the cookbook approach to this.

I hope it's a good reference and a good read! Just in case I win the drawing, I read my books in PDF format, on my phone or laptop/desktop.

Keep up the sharing of knowledge please!

Micheal Banning (not Michael - it's not a misprint):

I am absolutely fasinated with android.
I dont know much about how it works or
how to design it but i am in school for computer science. I hope I can get this book to further educate myself on how it works and how to create different things. I am more of a hands on person... If I won this book, It wouldnt be in vain, it wouldnt go on a book shelf and collect dust, it wouldnt end up ina goodwill thrift store, id read it front to back and learn every aspect of android I could from the book :P

Congratulations, guys - all of you will be contacted by Packt for your information and shipped a brand new copy of Android 3.0 Application Development Cookbook (print edition if you live in the U.S. or Europe, or an eBook edition otherwise).

Everyone else - keep participating to win more great Android development books!

Micheal Banning displayed spelling, punctuation, and spacing errors in his post and I personally think any entry with such errors should immediately be disqualified.

That is ridiculous. Maybe English isn't his native language. Maybe he never got the great education that you got. Maybe you are trolling at 2:35AM? Either way, he won. He could have written "I like the part where the bee's make the honeycomb" and if A.P thought it was good enough, then great.

BTW if you are trolling THEN you got me good.

It is quite clear that the errors made were careless and that there is no language barrier here. I know of many contests that disqualify entries based off of these standards and I just so happen to agree. I didn't even submit an entry for this contest, so, I'm not the least amount bitter about not winning.

I don't think "trolling" is applicable to my post. I was merely sharing my legitimate opinion, without any hateful or rude remarks.

I understand that the winners of this contest are up to A.P., and that they can choose whomever they want. However, regardless of content, I feel that these standards are very important and should be held to any text-entry based contest.

    I never win contests! :(

CONGRATS! Although, I don't know the wisdom in giving a programing book to someone whos shown so little interest that they know very little about a platform that's already been around a couple years, so they clearly aren't passionate about said platform, AND is in college so will likely be spending most/all of their time on that... but that's just my logic :o
