If you've ever received a notification and thought to yourself, "I really wish my phone would play some colorful and fun animation every time I get a message," then there's no doubt that Pops is the app for you.

Calling itself the "ringtone for the smartphone generation," Pops is an app that lets you customize notifications for certain apps, namely Gmail, SMS, Facebook, and Twitter, with full-screen animations. To get a better idea of what it's all about, here is a video showcasing most of its features:

As you can see, Pops is an... interesting idea. It allows you to be more aware of specific events on your phone and adds a certain amount of flare and personality to the activity. While I can't really see myself using this app, one feature that is quite nice is the built-in notification panel that displays all alerts for the aforementioned apps, so you can get a quick overall glance at everything in one place.

Something else to add more drain to the battery. I can't see myself needing it but since its free, I might play with it for the heck of it.

It looks like a fun idea, if I had a supersized battery.

I can't decide if this is remarkably useless or handy (if you're a 12-year old cheerleader). An original idea, nonetheless.

Looks cool but as the above commenters mentioned it looks like a massive battery drain

While it does look interesting...I can't really see myself using it. I will, however, try it out.

Just tried it. Not worth it. The notification settings are really lame. I got maybe one good laugh- before I cried at how horrible this app was.

    massive battery drain!!!

  • ClassickWorld

Forget the animations. I just like the fact that it can be used as a universal inbox. Thumbs up.

No issues with my battery on SGS. But i can understand why you think it may happen. notification appears and then screen is off..just like any other notifications.

Worth a try. Cool animations and videos!

Could be fun for about two secs then it's very childish. Why anyone would want to watch a repetitive animation every time is beyond me... Chicks may love it.

  • Arianna

I cant get it to work with facebook.. :/ i connected to it, but its still not working..

Animify is a similar new app with more configurations and notifications.
