Less than a week ago, T-Mobile announced that Gingerbread would be rolling out to a limited number of myTouch 4G users on June 20th, with a broader rollout hitting all customer by the end of the year. In a strange twist, the Magenta Carrier updated the myTouch 4G support page this morning stating that:

Beginning August 5, you will be able to go to  a T-Mobile retail store to update your T-Mobile myTouch 4G to the most recent software version. This helps if you have not gotten the Over-The-Air (OTA)  update.

The document goes on to provide users some ...

Logitech recently released its Q1 earnings for fiscal year 2012, and lets just say that the company has seen better days. Sales are continuing to decline, and the company is facing a $34 million charge due to an upcoming price reduction of its Google TV box, the Revue. In order to promote interest in the device, Logitech will be dropping the price from an outrageous $249 down to a more reasonable $99, putting it in the same ballpark with Apple TV and Roku TV.

Once this price hits the street, this will be an excellent deal for anyone looking to ...

If you were not in one of the lucky cities to get 4G coverage from Verizon's extensive LTE rollout earlier this month, fear not as more cities are being added to the list as we speak. In fact the rollout and expansion have become so extensive we had to hunt through two pages of Verizon's press-releases to compile the list of new and expanded markets.

The cities that Verizon will be rolling out 4G LTE to on August 18 include the following:

  • Provo/Orem, Utah
  • Capital Region, New York
  • Syracuse New York
  • Ithaca, New York
  • Greater Worcester, Massachusetts

Two days ago we let you know that the 4G LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was set to hit Big Red's sales floor on July 28th for $530 (with a two-year agreement, that is). That day is here, and right on schedule, the LTE Tab 10.1 is ready to go in VZW stores across the country.

Accompanying what is probably the best Android tablet on the market, you'll find a whole slew of accessories to optimize the usefulness and experience of the Tab. Among the add-ons is the Multimedia Charging Dock for $50, a desk accessories that allows ...

Platform games seem to be in short supply on Android. Aside from a few standouts (like Replica Island), they don't seem to be the type of game one equates with success on a mobile platform. They usually have trouble combining tight controls, fun concepts and longevity into one package.

r1

However, this game, Roboto, looks to change that. Coming at us from developer Fenix Fire, Roboto tells us a story about a teen robot (above, in blue) in love, who is trying to find his way to his sweetie to... do whatever robots do.

The robot traverses levels through his ...

Latest data from Nielsen indicates that Google's Android's OS claims the largest share of the U.S. smartphone market with a total of 39%. However, this market share is split between HTC (14%), Motorola (11%), Samsung (8%) and other Android hardware manufacturers (6%).

nielsen-smartphone-share-7-11

In contrast, Apple's iOS now commands 28% of the market which is well short of Android's 39%, but what is interesting is that because Apple is the only manufacturer making iOS devices it is the leading smartphone manufacturer in the U.S.

Meanwhile RIM's BlackBerry OS holds 20%, Windows Phone has 9%, and HP's WebOS and Nokia's Symbian are ...

I'm going to make this clear from the get-go: I'm a big fan of puzzle games. However, I'm not a fan of when developers think that throwing a new coat of paint onto an old concept constitutes something praise-worthy.

Thankfully, Wiz Kid Jr, though unfortunately-named, is actually a pretty competent puzzler. Not content to just be a simple "match 3 or more" clone, it adds a couple features that bring some much-needed depth. In the game, you are a wizard that looks to defend his/her mana from hungry spirits. In order to gather mana, the wizard must match orbs of ...

Over the past few weeks and months the price of the Acer Iconia A500 has been steadily dropping. It is now clear that it was to make way for the 4G version of the tablet from AT&T.

Announced in late March by AT&T for a Q2 release, it looks like they have finally got their act together and are now featuring the device on Amazon.com on pre-order for $499.99.

They say that there are two sides to every story, and that certainly holds true for Sprint after they announced their second quarter 2011 results this morning.

Once again, the network has reported that in the course of Q2 2011 it has wrapped up more than 1 million net wireless subscriber additions, increasing their revenue from consumers. The quarter is also Sprint's fourteenth consecutive quarter of improved customer care satisfaction, showing that customers are enjoying the unlimited plans currently being offered.

Developments in the Apple v HTC patent war are coming in fast and it looks like things are heating up.

In a preliminary ruling (discussed further in our earlier article) the US International Trade Commission (ITC) found HTC liable for infringing Apple’s patents. Google’s executive chairman then hit back with his view on Apple’s strategy of litigating its competition into oblivion.

But, now Bloomberg is reporting that an unsealed (not made public) ruling dating back to July 1 may have turned the tide in favour of HTC. According to the earlier ITC ruling Apple’s Mac OS X is utilising ...

Nissan has released an application today that's going to make their two-dozen LEAF owners very happy: an official LEAF app that allows you to directly control features in the car from your Android phone.

Jokes aside, the app is actually very neat and packs in some really futuristic features. If you have an active CARWINGS subscription, then you can view the battery's current charge level and even begin charging the car remotely from your phone if it's connected to a power source. The application will also be able to tell you how long it is until the charge will be ...
