Normally, we don't post FCC filings, but this one caught our attention. It appears that a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II with NFC just hit the FCC sporting AT&T radios. But wait, this is where it starts to get interesting. Back in March, another variant with AT&T bands hit the FCC. Curious, yes?

The rabbit hole gets deeper: earlier this week, we saw photos of a version of the GSII sporting a keyboard that is rumored to be heading to AT&T, yet today's filing shows identical dimensions to the European variant of the GSII, suggesting that there is no keyboard. Of course, shortly after seeing those leaked pictures, we did hear a rumor that AT&T may end up with two versions of the GSII: one with a physical keyboard, one without. Still, though -- this doesn't explain today's filing. Why two filings? Surely AT&T will not have three versions of the GSII; that type of redundancy would be beyond absurd.

Of course, there is always the chance that one of the filings is for a Bell, Rogers, or Telus variant, since they share the same bands as AT&T in the first place. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.
