There is little doubt that the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is one of the hottest Android tablets on the market. Thanks to its hybrid-laptop nature, it's one of the most versatile devices that I've ever seen: it can be what you need when you need it.

When the Transformer was announced, it was accompanied by a similarly unique-yet-convenient device that we've yet to get a good look at: the Eee Pad Slider. Now, thanks to Romanian blog ImiDoresc.ro, we finally have a better idea of what the worlds first tablet with a slide-out keyboard is all about, and I will admit, it looks completely sick.

Note: the first 3-4 minutes of the video consists of the guy sliding it open and closed about 600 times.

What do you think? Pretty awesome, yes? Unfortunately, a US date has yet to be announced, but the Slider is set to land in Europe in fall for a still-unknown price.

    Looks sick as hell!!!

Nice. I think the built-in keyboard is going to convince a lot more people to get a tablet, kind of like the keyboard on the original Droid helped convince people.

For myself it's too big and probably too heavy. I would like a smaller one, with a 7 or 8 inch 1024 x 768 screen. That would be awesome.

      Couldn't agree more!
I love my Transformer but sometime it feel too big, and my hands are getting tired holding it.

Its sick alright, sick as in I wouldn't want it. kinda takes the 'touch' out of touch screen.

    • p3ngwin

how does GIVING you the OPTION to use a keyboard TAKE AWAY the touch factor of the screen ?

  • Carlos

I want it I want it I want it I WANT IT!

  • Shane M Gordon

Looks cool as hell... @Jon: I agree with you...

If they would replace the keyboard with ANOTHER tablet touch screen where the second screen not only doubles for a keyboard .... but also as another video monitor and an extension of the first tablet monitor...
This way we can have a touch keyboard without taking away from the main monitor!

Now THAT sounds better than having a slide out keyboard with the only function is BEING a slideout keyboard... (and possibly a touchpad mouse)...

why am i the only person who see's the lack of a touchpad as a BIG negative?? i had the original transformer with keyboard dock and it worked really well, and really did replace my laptop. with this, having to constantly touch the screen makes it just weird? or maybe its just me :)

When I first saw this I really wanted it, but now that I have a Transformer with the docking station, I'm good. Asus is rocking though, great ideas and great products.

Really like it but for what i use my transformer for, I wouldn't rock it. I don't even have the laptop dock, I don't need it and my girl said she won't use it. But when price comes down might pick it up for shiz and giggles.
