DataViz, the maker of DocumentsToGo, is celebrating Independence Day by offering a 53% discount on the full version of its flagship application, which is a collection of Office replacement applications that gives you Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and Google Docs support all in one package.

The license unlocking premium features of DocumentsToGo v3 normally costs $14.99, but for a short period of time is being offered for only about $7 - a 53% discount. These premium features are:

•Edit, View & Create Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint files & high fidelity viewing of your PDF files
•NEW! Supports password protected Word & Excel 97-2008 files
•NEW! Google Docs support! Download, view & edit your files from your Google Docs directly in Docs To Go.
•NEW! Desktop Application for bi-directional synchronization with your device’s USB cable.

Considering that Google already released a Docs app and USB sync is nothing out of the ordinary, the real value here comes in with the ability to edit Office docs and view ones that had been password protected.

DocumentsToGo's primary competitors, such as Quickoffice Pro, ThinkFree Office Mobile, and OffuiceSuite Pro, cost $10-15, so the 4th of July $7 sale is starting to look pretty good for those in need of a mobile office.

Have they improved this at all? Last I tried it, it was painstakingly slow and PDF reflow downright awful.
