Hey, Droid 2 owners! Remember in the not so distant past when the Droid X received a workaround that allowed it to get its own build of CyanogenMod 7? Yeah, you knew it was only a matter of time before Team Douche hooked you up, too - and now the wait is over.

CM7 nightlies for the Droid 2 have officially hit the CyanogenMod mirror network. It's worth noting that this is build is for the Droid 2 only, and it will not work on the Droid 2 Global.

Definition: A "nightly" is a bleeding edge release that is built on a daily basis, usually at night after a full day's worth of new code has been committed.

It could oftentimes be unstable and not properly tested, lacking any changelogs, but eventually evolving into alphas, betas, release candidates, and finally stable releases.

So, D2 owners, head over to the CM repository and grab the download now!

Thanks, RC!

Can you you tell me why this doesn't run flash?" and handed Cam his Optimus S.

  • Will it work on Milestone 2?

  • Yes, they'll be mirrored on goo-inside.me/cm as always. :)

  • What?
Does that work with MILESTONE 2 ?????

  • Waited for this ROM forever. Installed and found out there are more steps than I thought AFTER its installed to get Gmail and apps setup. WHY? Would prefer it to look just like you popped the phone out of the box, you know....sign in to your Gmail account and your DONE. What a buzzkill for me. edit: I did a complete wipe and wiped cache as well.

You have to install Gapps separately. Download them from here > http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version/Google_Apps
      and flash in recovery.

Generally, I flash CM and then flash Gapps back-to-back, so I get that out-of-the-box feel.

      • Thanks Cameron, I know DEVS for this ROM are Gods in their field, I guess I was hoping for more than what is in the ROM. I will retry as you instructed, as I REALLY want this. Thank again....

No problem. They can't include Gapps with the releases due to licensing restrictions. It's a legal issue, so Team Douche didn't really have a choice in the matter. =/

  • @Cameron: Success! Completing app restore now and all is good so far. BEERS (or soda if you prefer) to you! Thanks again...

  • im having some major issues. I had fission on mod on my phone with the bootstrap loader. and i saw this on the rom manager for download. so i did and when i loaded it it just sent me to the motorola screen. then i tried to boot in to the recovery console to reload my back up and it just give me the anroid with the ! mark. so i hit the search button and i got a menu that says reboot phone apply update from SD and wipe cache and wipe data. so i tried to find any update to load from sd and its all giving me signature failure. i have no idea how to get any rom or even stock rom back on here so i can use my phone again. any help would be great!
