Update 6.30.11: This deal is back for another go! We've updated the links to reflect the new listing, so grab it while it's hot.

It's not often that we see Motorola's Honeycomb tablets on sale, so when I saw $100 off the dual-core XOOM Wi-Fi as this morning's eBay Daily Deal, I had to let you guys know as soon as possible.

The deal is for the larger 32GB version and brings the price down from $599.99 to $499.99. According to the countdown, it will last for another 4.5 hours or so, which means the tablet will be available at a discount until about 1 p.m. PT. Shipping is free within the U.S. - other countries do not seem to be included in this deal.

Update x2: The original sale ended, but the item was relisted (I've updated the links here) and is still available. I wonder if they'll keep doing it all day today.

If you've been waiting to grab yourself what is essentially the original Nexus tablet with all the ports one can fancy (MicroSD, MicroUSB, HDMI), then hurry up and pick up this bad boy before it disappears into the ether of regular priced merchandise.

SD card doesn't work. Motorola refuses to state what the hold up is. They keep saying it is Google who is taking long. No one is talking they just keep saying 'soon.....

Unlike the Honeycomb tablets which have SD support already, Motorola's going *completely stock*. They're using the Android 3.x OS as close to as it comes as humanly possible.

The other manufacturers used workarounds to get it working.

Also, 32GB is plenty of space *for now*. I'm using about a third of it on my tablet. By the time I need more space, SD support will be there.

Xoom is a future-proof device, it wasn't meant to have everything working out of the box.

It will be very crazy to buy a Xoom right now. Given the support level from Motorola.

Look, SD card does not work.
    Non-US Xoom don't have 3.1 update!

    How is that?

    Google experience device?

    Come on!

    • ocdtrekkie

Believe me, the amazing Google Experience is there. Every day of my life with my Xoom is pure joy.

Well i'm a Xoom only Wifi Owner from venezuela, and got my update the same week that the google io event!

of course they are offering a *discount* all these other cheaper tablets are making debuts over the next few weeks. still needs to be cheaper. i'd still rather wait til end of year when quad core tablets are rumored to start appearing.

Drop the price to $399 or lower and we can talk, but at that price forget about it. Samsung and others have better offerings that WORK with LTE and WiFi only.

Moto screwed themselves trying to be first and now Jha can eat the crow.
