If you've been patiently waiting to start renting movies on your XOOM Wi-Fi, then your moment has arrived. According to this tweet from Motorola, you can now rent movies via the Android Market - granted you're not rooted, of course. It looks like the Movies tab still isn't appearing directly in the Android Market, but all you need to do is download and install the official Videos app from Google and you'll be ready to rent and watch all the movies you can handle.

You can grab the app from the widget below.

If you attempt to install this on the Verizon XOOM, you won't get very far - it shows up as "already installed" as Movies has been supported since the 3.1 update.

Too bad they want $4-$5 for a rental. Redbox is $1. I'll use it.

"Which will you rent first...?" ...in my case, none of the above; my sh*t is rooted so I can't join that party =P

I have the app and have rented movies. When it works it is OK. Takes forever to download a movie. Sometimes the movie will not play if there is no network. What is the point of that. Overall servis is poor at best
