EVO 3D and View 4G

Sprint subscribers, you can stop holding your breath now - the nation's third-largest carrier has officially announced the release date of the EVO 3D and EVO View 4G. The duo will be coming out of HTC's factories and landing in a Sprint retail store near you on June 24, just as we've been hearing from the rumor mill.

The three-dimensional sequel to the hugely successful EVO 4G will set you back $199.99, a decent price considering what's under its hood:

  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense 3.0
  • 4.3-inch qHD (960x540) glasses-free 3D display
  • 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 dual-core processor
  • Dual 5MP rear cameras capable of 1080p video recording
  • 1.3MP front-facing camera
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4GB of internal storage
  • WiMAX connectivity

Meanwhile, the EVO View 4G - the CDMA version of the Flyer - will cost $399.99... on a new two-year contract (I can already hear the catcalls). On the upside, the HTC Scribe stylus is included without any additional fees; the $79.99 pen does not come with the WiFi-only Flyer that hit Best Buy a few weeks ago. As a reminder, the View's specs are:

  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with tablet version of HTC Sense 3.0
  • 7-inch 1024x600 display
  • 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 single-core processor
  • 5MP rear camera
  • 1.3MP front-facing camera
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 32GB of internal storage
  • 4000mAh non-removable Lithium Polymer battery
  • WiMAX connectivity

Sprint stores across the nation will be opening early (8:00 a.m. local time) on 6/24, and Sprint Premier customers will be able to purchase the EVO 3D from sprint.com on June 21, three days before the national launch.

Glasses-Free 3D plus Sprint 4G

HTC EVO 3D takes the mobile multimedia experience to a new level, providing the ability to capture and view in 3D and share at 4G speeds, offering consumers the ultimate glasses-free 3D experience. Respected device critics agree Sprint has done it again with HTC EVO 3D. Here are a few of the accolades that poured in when it was announced in March:

  • LAPTOP Magazine honored HTC EVO 3D with its Best Smart Phone Award and the coveted Best in Show honor at CTIA this spring.

I'm a Premier customer and have a pre-order in at my local Sprint store. Does the 3 day advance apply to us as well?

Wonder what size memory card comes with the evo 3d. (love how verizon gives their 4g phones a 32gb card). Anyway I'm getting this! First android phone.

This brings great joy to me and current sprint customers should be proud of these devices. The Evo 3d will be the best device on market and everyone will see how great the battery life really is with the 1.2 dualcore asynchronous processor this will be a beast and its all mine..

    • Kelvin

That's actually true :(. Even as a huge HTC fan I have to admit that the Galaxy S 2 is a really good and nice phone. BUT I WANT THE EVO 3D SO MUCH MORE. I'm glad to see that there are people who are almost as excited about the EVO 3D as I am and actually are capable of enjoying it within a few weeks ,like you :).

If I were you, I wouldn't count down the days but every second :P.
