Over a month after Toshiba first demoed its Android Honeycomb tablet with an awesome teaser site, Amazon has  put up a product page featuring the tablet with its specifications and capabilities.  The tablet cannot actually be purchased from Amazon yet and there is also no word on pricing or when it will finally become available.

As expected, the tablet's specs are as follows:

  • 10.1" display (1200x800)
  • NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor
  • Android 3.0 Honeycomb
  • 5.0 MP rear camera with autofocus
  • 2.0MP front-facing webcam
  • Stereo speakers
  • USB, mini-USB, and HDMI ports
  • SD card reader
  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi  connectivity
  • Gyroscope, Accelerometer, e-Compass, GPS and Ambient Light
  • Screen rotation lock switch
  • User replaceable battery
  • Interchangeable rubber backplate, available in a variety of colors

Let us at least hope that Toshiba come up with a name for this device before it starts shipping.

In the meantime check out these images of the tablet:

well glad to see they got rid of the useless softbuttons.

aside from that looks pretty much the same, power LEDs and i guess wi-fi and rotation are a nice addition. Terrible camera placement still but meh.

honestly, biggest turnoff is that this thing is suppose to be like 2 pounds or something like that. Way to heavy for a tablet device.

  • Khanh

That thing looks a little thick...

It would have to be, it has full sized ports. I like the changeable back so you can pretty it up a bit.

Argh. So it's true then. No 3G...

    • Tee

      yes, thats a big minus

  • Eric

This is a tablet I'm keeping my eye on. Full HDMI, USB, SD, that backing, and a hopefully cheap wifi only device. Hopefully it's not too heavy. Thickness doesn't matter to me.

It also has GPS. Does the wifi xoom even have that? I have no clue about that.

    • Raphael

Yes, the wifi xoom has GPS

      • Eric

Yeah, I just read that somewhere else. So that's good.

  • Ric

Specs sound great, but looks really thick.
