Today at the SEA Forum in Singapore, Samsung launched the Galaxy Pro Android 2.2 smartphone featuring a QWERTY keyboard.

Shortly thereafter, UK mobile operator Three confirmed in the video below that the device will be carried by their network.

The video also revealed that the phone will have a modest 800 MHz processor, a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 3MP rear camera, and Wi-Fi. The phone will also come with Samsung's proprietary Social Hub software, allowing you to connect to your email, IM, and social networks through one interface. So, if you are like Brendan and always like to be connected, "this is the perfect phone for you".

It is readily apparent that the industrial design, QWERTY keyboard, and modest specs are marketed towards corporate users unwilling to part with their precious BlackBerrys.

Yet anothe rannouncement for a "Blackberryesque" Android device. The winner (in the UK at least) won't be the best phone, it'll be the one that hits the market first.

I think it would be a good starter as a switch from RIM but I can't say that I would be able to use it. My Nexus One still has my heart lol

hi! i've this phone for a week already and i must say I am very happy w/ it. ( no exaggeration). web browsing is a breeze, sms is like iphone setting. email accounts are very accessible easy to use and easy to browse, keypads are fantastic. it has changeable fonts. its a wonderful mms sender and receiver. i find it really better than the blackberry. touch screen is iphone-like reactive. navigator and maps are more precise than nokia e72 or that in iphone (unless u buy a dedicated application).

it would have been the best if: it has an internal memory of at least 8gb, has a cc/bc in the sms settings, a better physical phone design but please don't change the keypads (they're very effective!)

it's the best messaging and business phone so far at a value of Php11,500.00 w/c is about $250. I wasn't disappointed to have bought it.

I have a pretty powerful Moto Droid Pro, which is a lot more expensive than this phone. But the Droid Pro's keys are slightly small and cut/paste is tedious because there are no directional keys of trackball -- so one has to tap the screen meticulously to place the cursor just so... If my company permitted BBerry I would purchase a RIM device in a heartbeat as they make the best email workhorse. But I think I will have to give this Galaxy Pro a serious look...
