As  more high-end Android tablets hit the market, the prices can be pretty overwhelming (I'm talking to you, Motorola XOOM). While it doesn't sport cutting-edge specs, the 7" Barnes & Noble Nook Color has been taken on as a pet project by many in the development community (even running a mostly stable port of the Honeycomb SDK preview), and can be turned into a solid $250 tablet. Now, if you act quickly, you can change that to a $200 tablet when you snatch it up from the manufacturer's eBay account.

Here's how to get in on the action:

  1. Navigate to the correct listing by barnesandnobleinc
  2. Checkout with promo code CBARNESDD
  3. Enjoy your $200 (with free shipping) Android tablet!

eBay's elusive "more than 10 available" disclaimer is tagged onto the listing, so you may be taking your chances if you wait long on this one. While we don't know whether the quantities are limited, we do know the offer will expire at 8AM PT on March 3rd, 2011.

Will's typical, run-of-the-mill story is that of 'classically-trained actor turned Android smartphone and tablet writer.' If you catch him quoting Shakespeare, it's not because he misses it, but because he desperately wants his Masters in drama to count towards something.

Too bad, they don't ship outside the US.

Everyone, I can't tell you how many I am after I installed the HC preview into my Nook Color. I was so satisfied that I created a YouTube video to show how great it works:

Ooh, I made a typo. I meant to say:

Everyone, I can’t tell you how "HAPPY" I am after I installed the HC preview into my Nook Color.

Anyway, I highly recommend it. I was using the first version of the eMMC HC preview in the video. Map, Gallery, and Angry Birds do not work in that version. Since then, I've updated to the second version, and now almost every apps I use in my phone work. The only exception is OpenTable, but without a real GPS, the usefulness of OpenTable is limited.

Oh, Wifi location does work in the second version.

This is probably the cheapest tablet for the buck that you can get nowadays. Brilliant.

I forwarded this deal to a bunch of my friends whom I have been singing the praises of the B&N Nook Color to since I got mine for Christmas. Hopefully a couple will pick one up.

This is simply an outstanding entry level Android tablet even at the full $250.00. The $200.00 deal price just makes it that much more awesome.

Damn good deal. Picked one up.

  • Ed

This seems to good to be true...but I snatched up one anyway!

Snatched one up for my wife. Only 49 minutes left for the deal and am thinking of getting a second one.
