epic_zio_froyo

Earlier today, Android Central caught word that the Epic and Zio would receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to Froyo on February 21, but had nothing more than copied and pasted text from the Sprint system. Fast forward a few hours, and we now have more concrete evidence in the form a screenshots from Sprint's internal system that confirm the update is coming:

One week from now everyone will be complaining they don't have Gingerbread.

    • Fulaman

Then They are just being greedy. Only the nexus s has gingerbread thus far. Congrats to epic 4g owners. Hoping that verizon will make true on their word and upgrade the fascinate on the 22nd.

    • Mesmorino

Pfft, I have a Desire HD and I've been complaining that I don't have gingerbread since December. All those other people can get in line behind me.

      • Fulaman

Yet There are phones out there that don't even have froyo, and you complain lol. Gingerbread is only out on one phone right now, and that is the nexus s.

        • MJ

          AMen fulaman...clam up mesmorino.

Notice the double caps at the beginning, gotta love my Fascinate...POS.

  • Digitalthug

Lmao..guess I should be reading the Dealer News every few days when I come into to work. Sad that I learned about this from following AP on twitter instead of my job lol

    • Coldman

This tends to be the case quite a lot. Employees get the rumors from the blogs more often than their own workplaces. :D

    • Fulaman

Lol mj, mine does the exact same thing. Hopefully froyo will fix it.

You silly gooses... this kind of confirmed future events has happened multiple times before regarding Froyo for Epic 4g. At least once it happened in the same exact way (an image of Sprint's internal system). I don't believe a single word in this article, other than the fact it is only trying to tell what the latest rumors are... Bottom line is - watch the update pulled with a note that they are still working on it and it will be available ASAP...

and the dec 26th release? there were internal documents for that too but it never happened

  • http://none sMoKeY_IROC

I've been waiting to get my update since before the supposed "dec 26 christmas present," which was very very disapointing when it never came. I have a good feeling about this release date though. Seems like its been enough time. Although they should have just freaking gave us Gingerbread. Now I probably wont by another phone untill after Ice Cream Comes out on some of those dual core, high powered graphics chiped phones.

    • Fulaman

I Feel confident about the upcoming february 22 release date as well. Since the vibrant already has froyo, they don't really want to waste any more time not upgrading the phone.
That said, I wish that verizon would give fascinate owners an official release notice on their official website much like sprint did.

Just the fact that its on IE6 makes me too disgusted to look any more at the screenshot.
