Having your phone model supported by CyanogenMod's community is quite an honor nowadays, and for many people it's a deciding factor when picking up a new phone. CM usually stays ahead of the curve and is likely to support your phone well after manufacturers and carriers stop showing any interest.

Therefore, ZTE Blade/Orange San Francisco owners should be feeling quite ecstatic right now, as the world's largest ROM community announced its official support of this device (see Cyanogen's commit here).

There are no final builds just yet, but you are free to download and flash the CM7 Release Candidate from here. Nightly builds should start showing up there shortly as well.

Further discussion about CyanogenMod on the Blade should happen in the official ZTE Blade CM forums right here (specifically, go say hello in this welcome thread).

Congratulations, Bladers!

Hi I got the mod running but I have not got the market. Do I need to enable it?

    Thanks in advance...

I think you need to download gapps for this (Google Apps). Cyanogen is forced to provide it separately. But I'm not sure - I don't use CM.

Have you downloaded and flashed gapps? The Market won't appear until you get gapps. See the link to gapps in the post.

  • raydroid

Is there any CDMA version for this awesome CM7? I got ZTE Blade but n880 series (CDMA).

  • San Francisco User

I've installed CayanogenMod 7 on my Orange San Francisco quite recently. The only problem (that is quite annoying) is that it shuts down when it is when placed idle during charging. It doesn't shut down when it is in use during charging.
Moreover, it doesn't boot up again by pressing the power button. You have to unplug the charging cable to reboot it.
This happens almost 100% of times.
The occurrence of this issue doesn't follow a fixed pattern either (can occur anytime during charging and regardless of the battery state, and the apps loaded).
    The version is 2.3.3.

This issue didn't use to occur on the original build (Froyo 2.1).

  • Mr Wolf

yeah, my Orange San Francisco with cyanogen mod 7 does exactly the same thing.

  • San Fransisco User

CyanogenMod 7.1.0 RC1 (for ZTE Blade) has solved the charging issue. Though it is a Release Candidate, I haven't seen any major issues as such. It has solved the annoying charging issue though so I am keeping it! :)

  • Mr Wolf

Excellent. I will give it a try.

  • sudhu

Also, Now i am trying to upgrade it to CM 7.1 but after flashing 7.1, somehow phone is not even getting boot.

      Thanks In Advance
