The Nexus S isn't exactly a huge upgrade from Google's original Jesus phone (in fact, it could be considered a downgrade in some respects), but it does feature one potential selling point: Gingerbread. That said, there's no reason those of us with non-Nexus S phones should have to wait in order to enjoy the update's new features, as the leaked Gingerbread launcher and 2.3 keyboard have shown us.

Today, Android Central Forums member Upstreammiami tweaked the Nexus live wallpaper in Éclair and Froyo to make it nearly identical to the default wallpaper on the NS. Obviously, since the phone isn't available yet, Upstreammiami wasn't able to grab the files directly off Samsung and Google's creation; therefore, this isn't a direct port. Still, as far as looks go, I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference. Besides, it shouldn't be too long before we see a direct port, as Best Buy will start selling the device tomorrow. While you're waiting for something even truer to Samsung and Google's live wallpaper to become available for your Android 2.1 / 2.2 device, you might as well hit up the source link, where you'll find instructions on how to download and flash this variant.

Google never learned from their past mistake. They became very successful OS provider to lots of mobile phone companies; they should just stick to it. And now, they are trying again to compete with their clients like Motorola and HTC. I hope Google will have the decency to realize that competing with your own clients is really bad for business.
