They said the same thing about radio on the Nexus. I'm pretty sure it's possible, the community has to figure it out, though.

How much is that? So much of a deal-breaker? I mean, if I paid 549/599 (whatever) $$$ to a phone, I could go on with a few more bucks...

(I still wish the N1 was on sale here, too... It's not locked, so why not? Dumb!)

Licensing fees. Any commercial product that picks up radio has to pay royalties to certain groups.

The interesting point is, why the heck Google don't want their customers to have FM Radio?

- Does it look hard to implement a radio app? (They don't need to, just give proper access and let devs handle the rest - appwise)
- Do they have a little promise to the operators, to push customers "a little" towards using internet radio? (Seems unlikely... Internet Radio use can't seem to give much on SP side either)
- Does it bring out a bug or a problem they haven't been able to handle? (Well, although this might be the case, intersectRaven should have met the same bug/problem... So, no go here either)

So, what's the big deal of giving the hardware but keeping it locked out by software...

Cool beans. But I want FM transmit to use when my N1 is in my car dock! There seems to be a lot of debate whether transmit is actually possible, though. Both in terms of hardware and software.
